Last Saturday 22 December Traces of Life Community Foundation conducted the inauguration of the magazine “Solferino: Solidarity Memories, Absence and Re-Existence”. The event had the participation of different groups in the city and residents of different neighborhoods of the northern citadel commune. In the gazette part of the history of Solferino neighborhood it is told from the perspective of children, girls, youth and adults in the neighborhood. This magazine arises from the practice process carried out by the social work student Maria Camila Rios Gonzales.
We are History, We are Solferino is the memory project which has been working Traces of life for some years. There elements are taken as the voices of the founders of the neighborhood, interviews children, etc. The social work student Cedat supported by the University of Caldas conducted its work on this project, contributing to the creation of a seedbed called Vigías de la Memoria, training in different areas, the gazette, among others.
The magazine deals with stories from the merchants, social leaders, inhabitants and founders of the Solferino neighborhood. Some of the interviews that appear in the magazine were conducted by the hotbed created by the practitioner. Likewise, two of the main projects carried out by Huellas de Vida are shown.: Lights for Peace and Reconciliation and Canvases of Memory. Gazette closes with a song inspired by the Solferino neighborhood, Marginal called Paradise, written and performed by Bull Dog, born rapper Solferino.
